FAQs about live-in care

How quickly can live-in care be arranged?

We’ll do our best to provide live-in care when and where you need it. If you require care quickly, please call us on 0300 124 0442 or book a consultation with one of our care advisors.

Can my family help choose my live-in carer?

Absolutely – we understand the importance of ensuring you and your family are happy with the person who will be living with you.

During our first home visit, we’ll ask you about the type of person you would like to care for you. We’ll also chat about your interests and hobbies to find a compatible carer. Before your carer is confirmed, we’ll discuss their profile with you to confirm you’re happy with the match.

What accommodation will my live-in carer need?
At a minimum, your live-in carer will require a separate bedroom with clean bed linen and space to hang their clothes.
Can your carers drive?
A large number of our carers can drive and some have their vehicle. Those that don’t will happily drive your car if you wish. However, you’ll need to arrange adequate insurance if you want a carer to drive your vehicle.
What if my carer falls ill?
If a carer is unable to work due to illness or needs to leave the engagement due to personal circumstances, our team will find a replacement carer as quickly as possible.
What if I don’t like my live-in carer?
We appreciate that things don’t always work out and welcome your feedback at all times. From day one, our team will build an open and honest relationship with you. If you aren’t happy – no problem – you can count on us to make things right and find a suitable replacement as soon as possible.
Will live-in carers look after my pets?
Of course – we know what an important part pets play in our clients’ lives and their care is a big part of our matching process. If you need assistance with your pet, we’ll send you a pet-loving carer who will be delighted to help.
How long will my carer stay with me?
Our live-in carers stay with you for a minimum of seven days, although many will happily stay for a few weeks at a time. At your home assessment, we will discuss your carers’ pattern and whether you would be comfortable with a different carer every week, or would prefer a few carers to come back regularly.
